This testimony was made in 2020, since then, Konecta and Comdata have unified their activities under the Konecta brand. Learn how Comdata, a leading Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) company, has addressed the challenges of its international expansion and diversity of IT environments with Wisper 360. Sylvain Laurent, IT Project Manager at Comdata, shares his experience and the concrete benefits of using this solution.
Comdata is a global leader in BPO (Business Process Outsourcing), with teams spread across multiple sites. One of the main challenges for Comdata is to manage a complex IT infrastructure, inherited from several mergers and acquisitions. With diverse systems and teams speaking different languages, centralization of processes and harmonization of systems have become priorities.
As a growing company, Comdata also faces significant customer demands, requiring the fast implementation of specific IT environments. Deployment times can be very short, with customers often requiring production to go live in weeks, sometimes days.
"We operate in a very different environment, and we're trying to bring everything together. We have a need for flexibility and efficiency, customers will typically require a very prompt roll out from the word go.”
To address these challenges, Comdata has looked at several desktop virtualization (VDI) solutions, such as Citrix or VMware, before turning to Wisper 360 (formerly ceBox). Several Comdata sites were already successfully using Wisper 360, and the solution quickly demonstrated its ability to standardize IT environments across different company locations.
"The main benefit we saw is that the ceBox (Wisper 360) provides the same environment wherever you are, so we can replicate across our different locations, we can harmonize the setup and support procedures across the different sites that we have."
With Wisper 360, Comdata can create a master image (Master or “Golden Image”) that includes all specific software such as telephony tools, Microsoft Office, or VPN software provided by the customers. This image is then tested and replicated on all the necessary stations, ensuring a rapid and uniform deployment across all sites.
Sylvain Laurent shares a significant example: the opening of a new site in Stuttgart, Germany, within extremely tight deadlines. The company did not have the ability to interrupt its ongoing operations to integrate with Comdata’s systems.
Thanks to Wisper 360, the IT team was able to prepare the infrastructures and workstations upstream, during the evening, without impacting the activities.
The result? The company was able to restart its activity the next morning at 7 o'clock, without interruption, with the computer systems of Comdata fully operational.
“We were able to run the business with our systems, without having interrupted the business at all. It made it a lot easier.”
With Wisper 360, Comdata has not only managed to standardize and centralize its IT environments, but also to ensure fast and efficient deployments across its various global sites. This flexible and easy-to-use solution saves time for IT while ensuring business continuity for customers.
